Thanks to Bob and Lin Starr, you can actually avoid the mud this season at the McCalvy Tabor Woods pond. The couple, after spreading out 16 yard’s worth of mulch down at the pond, also cleaned out the cattails so you can see the pond, put in pallets so the geese and ducks now have a place to build their nests, built a pier so the School to Nature kids could look into the water, redid the pavers under the bench they had installed — they even marked where their property ends and ours begins, to let people know that the bench and the dock is available for their enjoyment. The CC is so fortunate to have Bob and Lin as our new neighbors – without them, none of these improvements would have happened.

Find Mr. T — and Win a $10 Culver’s Gift Certificate!
Mr. T, a wood carving of a great horned owl, is hiding in a tree in Tabor Woods. If you’re aged 10 or under, and you’re fortunate enough to find him, you could win a $10 Culver’s gift certificate! Here’s how:
Explore Tabor Woods and find the tree where Mr. T is hiding — owls are very sneaky!
Take your picture next to the tree and email it to Barb Hugier at: email@example.com
Include your name, age, address and phone number with your email.
The first ten children, aged 10 and under, who send in their photo will receive a $10 Culver’s gift certificate — one winner per family.
We’ll notify the winners by email; if you don’t hear back from us it only means that you weren’t among the first 10 to send us your picture — we hope that you still had fun!
Winning pictures will be featured on the Caledonia Conservancy website, on our Facebook page, and in our spring newsletter.
Contest starts April 3. Happy hunting!
